This Chili Garlic Oil is the perfect condiment to spice up any dish! With just three simple ingredients—vegetable oil, garlic, and dried red chilies—you can make this easy, salt-free oil that’s full of bold, aromatic flavors. Drizzle it over noodles, stir-fries, or use it as a dipping sauce to add a delicious kick to your meals.

  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 10 cloves garlic, minced
  • 46 dried red chili peppers

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, heat vegetable oil over low heat.
  • Add minced garlic and dried red chili peppers to the oil.
  • Cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the garlic turns golden brown and aromatic.
  • Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
  • Transfer the chili garlic oil to a glass jar or bottle and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Be sure to cook the garlic on low heat to avoid burning it, which can make the oil taste bitter.
  • You can adjust the spice level by using more or fewer dried red chili peppers, depending on your preference.
