Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 10 cloves garlic, minced
- 4–6 dried red chili peppers
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, heat vegetable oil over low heat.
- Add minced garlic and dried red chili peppers to the oil.
- Cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the garlic turns golden brown and aromatic.
- Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes.
- Transfer the chili garlic oil to a glass jar or bottle and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- Be sure to cook the garlic on low heat to avoid burning it, which can make the oil taste bitter.
- You can adjust the spice level by using more or fewer dried red chili peppers, depending on your preference.
- This oil works great as a topping for noodles, rice, or roasted vegetables, and can also be used as a marinade or dipping oil.
