Description

Angel Beef Casserole is a simple and comforting dish featuring lean ground beef, creamy ingredients, and a crispy tater tot topping. With its rich flavor and easy preparation, this casserole is a family favorite that’s perfect for weeknight dinners or potlucks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 1 packet (1 oz) Italian dressing mix
  • 7 cups frozen tater tots

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, melted butter, and Italian dressing mix. Stir until smooth.
  • Add the cooked beef to the cream cheese mixture and stir until everything is well combined.
  • Pour the beef and sauce mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  • Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on top of the beef mixture.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove from the oven and let it sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • If you prefer a healthier option, you can use ground turkey or chicken in place of the ground beef.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle some shredded cheddar cheese over the casserole before baking.
  • You can also add vegetables, such as frozen peas or green beans, for added nutrition.
