Description

This Arrabbiata Sauce is a classic Italian pasta sauce that’s spicy, savory, and full of flavor. Made with crushed tomatoes, garlic, red pepper flakes, and fresh parsley, this quick and easy sauce comes together in just 25 minutes. Perfect for pairing with your favorite pasta or as a base for other Italian dishes!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  • In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1 minute, until the garlic is fragrant and the red pepper flakes release their heat.
  • Stir in the crushed tomatoes, salt, and black pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer.
  • Let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken.
  • Remove the sauce from heat and stir in the chopped fresh parsley.
  • Serve over pasta, and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or fewer red pepper flakes, depending on your taste.
  • This sauce also works great as a base for pizza or as a dipping sauce for breadsticks.
  • If you prefer a smoother sauce, you can blend it with an immersion blender after simmering.
