Description

This Bacon and Egg Croissant Boat is a delicious breakfast or brunch option that’s as fun to make as it is to eat. A buttery croissant is hollowed out to form a “boat,” filled with a perfectly cooked egg, crispy bacon, and topped with melted cheddar cheese. Baked to perfection and garnished with fresh chives, this dish is a savory, satisfying way to start the day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 croissants
  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped chives for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
  • Cut the croissants in half and hollow out the insides to form a boat shape.
  • Place the croissants on a baking sheet.
  • Crack an egg into each croissant boat.
  • Crumble the cooked bacon on top of the eggs.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the bacon and eggs.
  • Season with salt and pepper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the eggs are set to your liking.
  • Garnish with chopped chives before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute the cheddar cheese with other cheeses like Swiss or mozzarella for different flavors.
  • If you prefer your eggs cooked more or less, adjust the baking time to your liking.
  • These boats are also delicious with a drizzle of hot sauce or a dollop of sour cream for extra flavor.
  • To make this dish even heartier, add some sautéed spinach or mushrooms inside the croissant before baking.
