For the Cake Layers:

- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup Baileys Irish Cream
For the Chocolate Ganache:
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
For the Whipped Cream Layer:
- 1 pint heavy whipping cream
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare the Cake Layers:
- Bake and cool two layers of your favorite chocolate cake according to your recipe instructions. If using store-bought, ensure they are cooled.
- Make the Chocolate Cheesecake Layer:
- In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Mix in the all-purpose flour, sour cream, eggs, vanilla extract, and Baileys Irish Cream until well combined and smooth.
- Assemble the Trifle:
- Place one layer of chocolate cake in a trifle bowl or a large glass dish.
- Spread half of the chocolate cheesecake mixture over the cake layer.
- Add the second layer of chocolate cake and spread the remaining chocolate cheesecake mixture on top.
- Freeze:
- Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to set.
- Make the Chocolate Ganache:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and heavy cream. Melt together in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth and fully combined.
- Drizzle the Ganache:
- Remove the trifle from the freezer. Drizzle the warm chocolate ganache over the top of the cheesecake layer.
- Top with Whipped Cream:
- In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Spread or pipe the whipped cream over the chocolate ganache.
