- 2 apples, peeled and diced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a muffin tin.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples and melted butter.
- Spoon the batter into the muffin tin, filling each cup 3/4 full.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the fritters to cool for 5 minutes before removing from the tin.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add a sprinkle of brown sugar or chopped walnuts to the batter before baking.
- You can substitute the apples with pears for a different twist.
- These fritters are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
