Description

These warm, cinnamon-spiced baked apple fritters are a healthier twist on a classic treat. Made with tender apples and a light batter, they’re perfect for a sweet breakfast or dessert without the frying!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a muffin tin.
  • In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the diced apples and melted butter.
  • Spoon the batter into the muffin tin, filling each cup 3/4 full.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the fritters to cool for 5 minutes before removing from the tin.
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a sprinkle of brown sugar or chopped walnuts to the batter before baking.
  • You can substitute the apples with pears for a different twist.
  • These fritters are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
