Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup milk
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking sheet.
- Prepare the Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Prepare the Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring just until combined. Gently stir in the diced apples.
- Shape the Fritters: Drop the batter onto the prepared baking sheet in 1/4 cup portions, spacing them out to allow for spreading. You should have about 6 fritters.
- Bake: Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and set. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the fritters to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.
