Baked Apple Fritters are warm, spiced delights filled with tender apple pieces and topped with a sweet glaze. Perfect for breakfast or a sweet afternoon snack!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Fritters:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Fold in the diced apples until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the fritters are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the fritters to cool slightly on a wire rack.
  • For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritters.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For a touch of extra sweetness, sprinkle a little cinnamon sugar on top of the fritters before baking. These fritters are perfect for breakfast or as a sweet afternoon snack!
