Description

These Baked Ham and Cheese Croissants are the perfect combination of savory, slightly sweet, and buttery flavors. Made with mini croissants, smoked cheddar cheese, and deli-cut ham, these make for an easy yet indulgent meal or snack. A tangy honey mustard glaze adds the perfect finishing touch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 mini croissants
  • 4 slices smoked cheddar cheese (or regular cheddar), halved
  • ¾ pound deli-cut ham
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large egg white

  • Poppy seeds, for sprinkling

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Slice the mini croissants in half horizontally without cutting all the way through.
  • Lay a slice of smoked cheddar cheese (halved) on the bottom of each croissant.
  • Top with a slice of deli ham and then place the other half of the cheese on top.
  • Close the croissants, pressing them lightly to hold the filling inside.
  • In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, yellow mustard, honey, and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until smooth.
  • Brush the butter mixture generously over the top of each croissant.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk the egg white until slightly frothy, then brush it over the croissants.
  • Sprinkle poppy seeds on top of each croissant for added texture and flavor.
  • Place the croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown.

  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can use any type of cheese you prefer, such as Swiss or provolone, for a different flavor.

  • These croissants can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking for an easy grab-and-go meal.
