- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- Filling:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Activate the Yeast:
- In a small bowl, mix warm milk with sugar and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a large bowl, combine mashed bananas, melted butter, egg, and salt. Add the yeast mixture.
- Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes on a floured surface until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Make the Filling:
- In a bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Assemble the Rolls:
- Roll out the dough into a large rectangle about 1/4-inch thick.
- Spread the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly from one long side to the other, forming a log. Cut the log into 12 equal slices.
- Bake:
- Place the slices in a greased baking dish. Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
