Description

Indulge in this creamy, dreamy homemade banana pudding made from scratch. With a smooth cream cheese filling, layers of fresh banana slices, and crisp vanilla wafers, it’s a timeless dessert perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 ounces) package cream cheese
  • 1 (14 ounces) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (5 ounces) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (8 ounces) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 4 bananas, sliced
  • 1/2 (12 ounces) package vanilla wafers

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
  • Gradually add the sweetened condensed milk, instant vanilla pudding mix, and cold milk. Continue to beat until the mixture thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract and mix until fully combined.
  • Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until smooth.
  • In a 9×13-inch dish, layer the bottom with vanilla wafers. Add a layer of sliced bananas over the wafers.
  • Spread half of the pudding mixture over the bananas and wafers. Repeat with another layer of wafers, bananas, and the remaining pudding mixture.
  • Finish by topping with any remaining vanilla wafers and banana slices. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the pudding to set.
  • Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

  • For an extra touch, you can add a layer of whipped cream on top just before serving.
  • This recipe can be prepared a day ahead for better flavor and consistency.
