Description

These crispy, tender Bang Bang Chicken Sliders are the perfect combination of spicy, crunchy, and cheesy. With perfectly seasoned chicken breasts, a crunchy panko coating, melty mozzarella, and a creamy, spicy Bang Bang sauce, these sliders are sure to be a crowd-pleaser at any gathering or party. The flavors are bold and satisfying with a delightful kick of heat!


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds thin-sliced chicken breasts

  • Kosher salt, fresh black pepper, and garlic powder for seasoning

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup cornstarch

  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 cups (or more as needed) Panko breadcrumbs

  • Vegetable or canola oil for frying

  • 12 slices mozzarella cheese

  • 12 slider rolls

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce

  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional for extra heat)


Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken:

    • Season the chicken breasts with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

    • In a shallow bowl, whisk together flour and cornstarch.

    • In another bowl, mix the buttermilk and hot sauce.

    • In a third bowl, place the panko breadcrumbs.

  • Bread the Chicken:

    • Dip each piece of chicken into the flour mixture, then into the buttermilk mixture, and finally coat with the panko breadcrumbs.

  • Fry the Chicken:

    • In a large pan or skillet, heat vegetable or canola oil over medium-high heat.

    • Fry the chicken pieces in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the chicken.

    • Drain on paper towels.

  • Assemble the Sliders:

    • Place one slice of mozzarella cheese on each piece of chicken while it’s still hot, allowing the cheese to melt slightly.

    • Toast the slider rolls lightly in the same pan if desired.

  • Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and hot sauce (optional). Mix until smooth.

 

  • Assemble the Sliders:

    • Spread a generous amount of Bang Bang sauce on each slider roll.

    • Place the crispy chicken with melted mozzarella cheese on the bottom of each roll.

    • Top with the other half of the roll and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can adjust the heat level of the Bang Bang sauce by adding more or less hot sauce to taste.

  • For extra crunch, double-coat the chicken by dipping it back in the buttermilk and breadcrumbs before frying.
