Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 slices rye bread, cubed
  • 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 2 cups beef broth

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is no longer pink; drain excess fat.
  • Stir in Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer half of the bread cubes, beef mixture, and cheese. Repeat the layers.
  • Pour beef broth over the top of the casserole.
  • Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden.

Notes
