Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef liver, sliced
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Dredge liver slices in flour.
  • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add liver slices and cook until browned on both sides.
  • Remove liver from skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add onions and cook until caramelized.
  • Return liver to skillet and heat through.
  • Season with salt and pepper before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can deglaze the skillet with a splash of beef broth or a small amount of balsamic vinegar after removing the liver.
  • If you prefer a milder flavor, soak the liver in milk for an hour before cooking to help reduce its strong taste.
