A hearty and flavorful dish featuring tender beef strips in a rich, creamy mushroom sauce, served over egg noodles. This classic comfort food is perfect for any weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, cut into thin strips
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Egg noodles, cooked according to package instructions

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add beef strips and cook until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add onion and garlic. Cook until softened.
  • Add mushrooms and cook until they release their liquid.
  • Sprinkle flour over the mushroom mixture and stir to combine.
  • Slowly stir in beef broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  • Return beef to the skillet and simmer until sauce thickens.
  • Stir in sour cream and season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve over cooked egg noodles.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, you can use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
  • You can add a sprinkle of fresh parsley or chives for garnish.
