Description
Classic, crispy, and gooey Rice Krispie treats made with rich European butter and pure vanilla extract for an extra indulgent flavor. Perfect as a quick and nostalgic dessert or snack.
Ingredients

6 tablespoons (85 g) salted butter, cut into pieces (European butter recommended)

15 oz (425 g) miniature marshmallows (about 1½ 10-oz bags or 8½ cups)

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

6 cups (175 g) Rice Krispies cereal

3 tablespoons colored sprinkles (optional)
Instructions

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.

Add marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

Add Rice Krispies cereal to the marshmallow mixture and gently fold until fully coated.

If using, fold in colored sprinkles now or reserve for topping.

Quickly transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch pan.

Press evenly and firmly into the pan using a greased spatula or wax paper (do not press too hard to keep treats light and crispy).

If desired, sprinkle additional colored sprinkles on top and gently press to adhere.
- Allow to cool at room temperature for about 1 hour before cutting into squares.
Notes

European butter has a higher fat content and gives a richer flavor but regular salted butter works too.

Use fresh marshmallows for best texture and flavor.
- Store treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
