A unique and delicious twist on pizza featuring a creamy ricotta base, fresh blackberries, and fragrant basil leaves. Topped with a drizzle of balsamic glaze, this pizza is the perfect balance of savory and sweet.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup fresh blackberries
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Balsamic glaze (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to preheat as well.
  • Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to a pizza pan or preheated pizza stone.
  • Spread the ricotta cheese evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.
  • Scatter the fresh blackberries over the ricotta cheese.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the top and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Bake the pizza in the oven for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is slightly bubbly.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and sprinkle with torn basil leaves.
  • If desired, drizzle with balsamic glaze for an added touch of sweetness and tang.
  • Slice and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For an extra layer of flavor, try adding a sprinkle of Parmesan or mozzarella cheese before baking.
  • If you don’t have balsamic glaze, you can use a splash of regular balsamic vinegar for a slightly different effect.
  • Fresh mozzarella can be used in place of ricotta for a more traditional pizza flavor.
