    • 1 box (18.3 oz) brownie mix (plus ingredients required on the box)
    • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • For the Cheesecake Layer:
    • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • For the Assembly:
    • 1/2 cup crushed pecans or walnuts (optional)
    • Additional caramel sauce for drizzling

Instructions

  • Bake the Brownies:
    • Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the brownie mix box.
    • Prepare the brownie mix as directed, swirling in 1/2 cup of caramel sauce before baking.
    • Pour the batter into a greased baking pan and bake as instructed.
    • Let the brownies cool completely, then cut into bite-sized pieces.
  • Prepare the Cheesecake Layer:
    • In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
    • Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
    • In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
    • Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture, then fold in 1/2 cup caramel sauce.
  • Assemble the Trifle:
    • In a trifle dish or individual serving glasses, layer brownie pieces on the bottom.
    • Add a layer of the caramel cheesecake mixture on top.
    • Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheesecake mixture.
  • Garnish and Serve:
    • Drizzle additional caramel sauce over the top.
    • Sprinkle with crushed pecans or walnuts if desired.
    • Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use homemade brownies and caramel sauce. This trifle can be prepared a day in advance for easy entertaining.
