- 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into fries

Instructions
- Caramelize the Onions:
- Heat the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 20-25 minutes until the onions are soft and golden brown.
- Stir in the brown sugar and cook for an additional 5 minutes until the onions are deeply caramelized.
- If using, add the balsamic vinegar for extra depth of flavor. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Prepare the Fries:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Toss the cut potatoes with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the potatoes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through, until the fries are golden and crispy.
