Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- ¼ cup beef stock
- ½ green bell pepper, sliced
- ½ red bell pepper, sliced
- ¼ onion, thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- ½ tablespoon seasoning salt
- 1 ½ teaspoon cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon ginger paste (or freshly grated ginger)
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 4 sprigs of thyme
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with the beef stock and set it aside.
- Heat the cooking oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced sirloin steak and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, or until the steak is browned and cooked through. Remove the steak from the pan and set it aside.
- In the same pan, add the sliced onions, green and red bell peppers, and cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally until the vegetables begin to soften.
- Add the minced garlic, ginger paste, soy sauce, seasoning salt, and thyme to the pan. Stir well and cook for another 1-2 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine.
- Return the cooked steak to the pan. Stir in the beef stock mixture and cook for 2-3 more minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the steak and vegetables.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately with rice or as a standalone dish.
Notes
- You can substitute the sirloin steak with other cuts like flank steak or ribeye, but sirloin gives the best balance of tenderness and flavor.
- Adjust the amount of ginger paste to your taste preference; freshly grated ginger will offer a more intense flavor.
- For extra heat, add sliced chili peppers or a dash of hot sauce to the dish.
