Description

This Cheddar and Bacon Turkey Melt on Sourdough combines the savory flavors of deli turkey, crispy bacon, and creamy white cheddar, all melted together on hearty, toasted sourdough bread. A drizzle of honey mustard adds a sweet tang, while fresh spinach and tomato slices give a refreshing contrast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices sourdough or thick, crusty bread of choice

  • 2 tablespoons honey mustard

  • 2 slices white cheddar cheese

  • 4 slices deli turkey

  • Thin tomato slices from 1 medium red tomato

  • ½ cup fresh baby spinach

  • 4 strips cooked bacon

  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened

Instructions

  • Prepare the ingredients: Lay out the bread slices, cheese, turkey, tomato, spinach, and bacon.

  • Assemble the sandwich: Spread honey mustard on one side of each slice of bread. Layer on the deli turkey, cheese, tomato slices, spinach, and cooked bacon.

  • Butter the bread: Spread softened butter on the outside of each slice of bread.

  • Cook the sandwich: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place the sandwich in the skillet, cooking each side for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

  • Serve: Remove the sandwich from the skillet, slice it, and serve warm.

Notes

  • For an extra crunch, you can use a grill press to ensure an evenly toasted surface.

  • If you prefer a different type of cheese, feel free to swap the white cheddar with gouda or Swiss.
