Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
Instructions
- Prepare the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
- Make the Brownie Batter: In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract, cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, salt, and pumpkin pie spice. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Make the Pumpkin Cheesecake Swirl: In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese, pumpkin puree, and maple syrup until smooth and creamy.
- Assemble the Brownies: Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it out evenly. Add half of the pumpkin cheesecake mixture on top and use a knife or skewer to swirl the two together. Repeat with the remaining brownie batter and pumpkin cheesecake mixture.
- Bake: Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean (a few moist crumbs are okay).
- Cool and Glaze: Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before slicing. Drizzle with additional maple syrup or glaze (optional) before serving.
Notes
- For a stronger maple flavor, feel free to add more maple syrup to the cheesecake swirl or glaze.
- If you prefer a thicker cheesecake layer, double the amount of cream cheese and pumpkin puree.
