Description

These Cheesy Beef Burritos are a savory and satisfying meal, filled with flavorful ground beef, melted cheese, and a blend of seasonings, all wrapped in a warm tortilla. Perfect for a hearty dinner, these burritos are easy to prepare and sure to be a hit with everyone.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Optional for Serving:

  • Sour cream
  • Guacamole
  • Chopped cilantro

Instructions

  • Cook the Beef:
    • In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
    • Add the finely chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
    • Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute.
    • Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  • Season the Beef:
    • Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
    • Stir in the taco seasoning, paprika, cumin, and chili powder.
    • Add the salsa and mix well. Simmer for 5 minutes until the mixture is slightly thickened.
  • Assemble the Burritos:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Lay out the flour tortillas on a clean surface.
    • Divide the beef mixture evenly among the tortillas.
    • Sprinkle shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese over the beef mixture.
    • Roll up each tortilla tightly, tucking in the sides as you go.
  • Bake the Burritos:
    • Place the wrapped burritos seam-side down in a baking dish.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the tortillas are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  • Serve:
    • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
    • Serve with optional toppings like sour cream, guacamole, and chopped cilantro.
