Description

This Cheesy Broccoli Bake is a creamy, cheesy side dish that’s perfect for any meal. Tender broccoli is smothered in a rich cheddar cheese sauce, baked until bubbly and golden. A simple and delicious way to enjoy your veggies with a cheesy twist!


Ingredients

  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Steam the broccoli florets until tender, then place them in a greased baking dish.
  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1-2 minutes to make a roux.
  • Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture becomes smooth and thickened.
  • Stir in half of the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  • Pour the cheese sauce over the steamed broccoli in the baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese on top of the broccoli.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika to the cheese sauce.
  • You can substitute the cheddar cheese with other cheeses like Monterey Jack or a blend of your favorites.
  • To make the dish a bit more crispy, broil the top for 1-2 minutes at the end of baking.
