These Cheesy Garlic Bread Sloppy Joes are a delicious twist on the classic sandwich. Ground beef is simmered in marinara sauce, topped with melted mozzarella and Parmesan, and served on garlic butter-toasted buns. Perfect for a quick weeknight meal that everyone will love.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the diced onion and green pepper, cooking until the vegetables are softened.
  • Stir in the marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter and add the minced garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Split the hamburger buns and place them on a baking sheet.
  • Brush the garlic butter on the insides of the buns and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  • Toast the buns under the broiler for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  • Spoon the meat mixture onto the bottom half of each bun.
  • Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Place the assembled sandwiches back under the broiler until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Cover with the top half of the buns and serve hot.

Notes

  • Feel free to add extra seasonings or top with fresh basil for more flavor.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • For an extra cheesy experience, use a blend of mozzarella and cheddar.
