For the Shrimp Base:

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

For the Topping:

  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Stir in the chicken broth, heavy cream, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  • Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes, just until they start to turn pink. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
  • Reduce the sauce slightly, then stir in the cheddar and Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  • Return the shrimp to the skillet and transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with melted butter. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the shrimp and sauce.
  • Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the topping is golden and crispy.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a splash of white wine to the sauce before adding the shrimp.
  • This dish pairs well with rice, pasta, or a fresh green salad.
