Description

This indulgent dish features tender chicken breasts and diced potatoes smothered in a rich, creamy cheese sauce. The combination of cheddar cheese, heavy cream, and garlic creates a comforting and satisfying meal that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook the chicken breasts until no longer pink in the center. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour until smooth and combined.
  • Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  • Add the garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
  • Place the cooked chicken breasts and diced potatoes in a baking dish. Pour the creamy cheese sauce over the top, covering everything evenly.
  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • If you prefer a stronger flavor, add more garlic powder or incorporate a bit of mustard into the cheese sauce.
  • You can substitute the heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter version.
  • Consider adding vegetables like broccoli or spinach for extra nutrition.
