Description

A classic Italian-American favorite, Chicken Parmesan features crispy breaded chicken breasts topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese. This comforting dish is perfect for a family dinner or special occasion.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In three separate bowls, place flour in one, beaten eggs in another, and a mixture of breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese in the third.
  • Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour, dip in egg, and coat with breadcrumb mixture.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook chicken until golden brown on both sides.
  • Place chicken in a baking dish, cover with marinara sauce, and top with mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and cheese is bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a sprinkle of grated Parmesan on top before baking.
