Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas, melted butter, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Fold in chocolate chips.
  • Pour batter into the prepared cake pan, spreading evenly.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
