Description

These Chocolate Cake Mix Cookies are incredibly easy and quick to make, using a boxed chocolate cake mix for a rich, fudgy flavor. Soft and chewy, with melty chocolate chips, they’re perfect for a simple homemade treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 15.25 oz chocolate cake mix (dry, no added ingredients)

  • ½ cup vegetable oil

  • 2 large eggs

  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for chewier texture)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.

  • In a large bowl, combine the dry chocolate cake mix and cornstarch (if using).

  • Add vegetable oil and eggs to the dry mix and stir until a soft dough forms.

  • Fold in the chocolate chips evenly.

  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.

  • Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until the edges are set but centers still look slightly soft.

  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Cornstarch helps create a chewier texture but is optional.

  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.

  • For extra fudginess, slightly underbake and let cookies finish setting on the baking sheet.
