Description

These irresistible chocolate caramel pretzel bars combine the perfect balance of sweet and salty. With a buttery caramel layer, crunchy pretzels, and melted chocolate, they make a delicious treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups mini pretzel twists
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and spray with non-stick spray.
  • Arrange Pretzels: Spread the mini pretzels in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  • Make Caramel: In a pot, melt butter and brown sugar over medium-low heat. Once boiling, cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Pour Caramel: Drizzle the bubbly caramel evenly over the pretzels; it will spread during baking.
  • Bake: Bake for 8-10 minutes until bubbling.
  • Add Chocolate: Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Return to the oven for 1-2 minutes to melt the chips.
  • Spread Chocolate: Use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate evenly. Freeze for 30 minutes.
  • Cut Bars: Remove from the foil and cut into squares.

Notes

  • You can substitute milk chocolate or dark chocolate chips depending on your preference.
  • Be careful not to overbake the pretzels, as the caramel can burn easily.
  • If you want an extra layer of crunch, sprinkle chopped nuts (such as pecans or walnuts) over the chocolate before freezing.
