Description
This decadent Chocolate Chip Pie is a warm, gooey dessert packed with chocolate chips and topped with a golden, crispy crust. It’s like a giant chocolate chip cookie in pie form, perfect for any occasion or a sweet ending to a meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pre-made 9-inch pie crust (or homemade if preferred)
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (you can also mix in milk chocolate chips)
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional; pecans or walnuts work well)
Instructions
- Prepare the pie crust: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). If using a pre-made pie crust, place it in a 9-inch pie dish. If you prefer a homemade crust, prepare that in advance.
- Mix the filling: In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, melted butter, eggs, flour, vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk until well-combined and smooth.
- Add the chocolate chips and nuts: Stir in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using).
- Fill the crust: Pour the pie filling into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean or with only a few crumbs.
- Cool and serve: Allow the pie to cool for at least 15-20 minutes before slicing. Serve as is or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat!
Notes
- You can use a mix of semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips for a slightly sweeter flavor.
- The pie can be served warm or at room temperature. Leftovers can be stored at room temperature for a few days or refrigerated for longer storage.
