Description

Indulge in this luxurious chocolate lemon mousse dome that combines the rich, velvety flavor of semisweet chocolate with the bright, zesty kick of lemon. Perfectly set in dome molds, this dessert is both elegant and delicious. The mousse is light, airy, and a perfect balance of sweet and tart.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips and butter in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until smooth.
  • Stir in the fresh lemon juice and zest until fully combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold the chocolate mixture into the whipped cream until fully incorporated, being careful not to deflate the whipped cream.
  • Pour the mousse mixture into dome molds, smoothing the tops.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the mousse is set and firm.
  • Carefully remove the mousse domes from the molds and serve chilled. Garnish with additional lemon zest or chocolate shavings if desired.

Notes

  • If you don’t have dome molds, you can use small bowls or ramekins to shape the mousse.
  • For extra lemon flavor, add more zest or a few drops of lemon extract to the chocolate mixture.
  • This dessert can be made a day ahead and kept in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
