This decadent Chocolate Orange Cheesecake Layer Cake is the perfect combination of rich chocolate and refreshing citrus. With moist chocolate cake layers and a creamy, citrus-infused cheesecake filling, this cake is sure to impress at any gathering or celebration. Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a large bowl, combine chocolate cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water. Mix until well combined.
  • Divide batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow cakes to cool completely.
  • In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla extract, orange zest, and orange juice until smooth.
  • In another bowl, whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
  • Place one of the chocolate cake layers on a serving platter and spread half of the cheesecake mixture on top. Place the second cake layer on top and spread the remaining cheesecake mixture over it.
  • Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure the cakes are completely cooled before assembling to avoid melting the cheesecake filling.
  • For extra flavor, garnish the top with orange slices or chocolate shavings.
