Description

These Chocolate Peanut Butter Valentine’s Hearts are a perfect treat for any occasion, especially Valentine’s Day! With a creamy, peanut butter filling wrapped in rich chocolate, they’re sure to impress with their sweet, salty combination. Easy to make and fun to share, these homemade treats will melt anyone’s heart.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter (room temperature)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1012 oz. chocolate, chopped into small pieces (semi-sweet and milk chocolate recommended, or use good-quality candy coating)

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, mix the peanut butter, melted butter, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth and well combined.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing until fully incorporated and the mixture becomes thick and dough-like.
  • Roll the mixture into small balls or form it into heart shapes using a mold.
  • Chill the peanut butter mixture in the refrigerator for about 15–20 minutes to firm up.
  • While the peanut butter mixture is chilling, melt the chopped chocolate in a double boiler or microwave, stirring until smooth.
  • Dip each peanut butter heart into the melted chocolate, coating it completely.
  • Place the chocolate-covered peanut butter hearts onto a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate until the chocolate is set (about 30 minutes).
  • Serve and enjoy your homemade chocolate peanut butter hearts!

Notes

  • If you don’t have experience working with real chocolate, using candy coating can make the process easier since it’s simpler to work with.
  • Feel free to adjust the chocolate-to-peanut butter ratio to your preference.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
