- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into cubes
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon ice water
- 1 cup pecan halves
- 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- In a food processor, pulse together flour, sugar, and salt. Add butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a small bowl, whisk together egg yolk and ice water. Add to flour mixture and pulse until the dough comes together.
- Press the dough into a 9-inch tart pan. Chill for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the tart crust for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown. Let it cool completely.
- Arrange the pecans in the cooled tart shell.
- In a small saucepan, heat cream until simmering. Pour the cream over the chocolate chips and let sit for 5 minutes. Stir until smooth.
- Pour the chocolate mixture over the pecans in the tart shell. Drizzle caramel sauce on top.
- Chill the tart for at least 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semisweet chocolate chips.
- You can make your own caramel sauce or use store-bought to save time.
