- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1½ cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sugar, for rolling
- 24 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and 1½ cups sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture and mix well.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in remaining sugar.
- Place the dough balls 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until set.
- Immediately press a chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie.
- Remove the cookies to wire racks to cool.
Notes
- You can also try using different types of chocolate kisses for variety, such as caramel or peanut butter.
- Make sure not to overbake the cookies, as they should remain soft and chewy.
