Description

A fresh, satisfying twist on the classic BLT sandwich, the Chopped BLT features crispy bacon, crunchy romaine, and ripe tomatoes all finely chopped and tossed with creamy mayonnaise. Served in a soft sub roll, this easy-to-make sandwich combines all your favorite flavors in every bite. Perfect for lunch, casual dinners, or picnics.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces bacon

  • 1 heart of romaine lettuce

  • 2 small tomatoes or 1 large tomato

  • 2 to 4 tablespoons mayonnaise, or to taste

  • 4 sub rolls

Instructions

  • Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels and chop into bite-sized pieces.

  • Wash and dry romaine lettuce, then chop finely.

  • Dice tomatoes into small pieces.

  • In a bowl, combine chopped bacon, romaine, tomatoes, and mayonnaise. Mix gently to combine, adding more mayonnaise if desired.

  • Slice sub rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through.

  • Fill each roll evenly with the chopped BLT mixture. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For added flavor, lightly toast the sub rolls before assembling.

  • Adjust mayonnaise amount to preference for creaminess.

  • Optionally add a pinch of black pepper or a squeeze of lemon juice for brightness.
