Description

This easy, addictive treat combines buttery toffee, crispy saltine crackers, and melty chocolate. It’s the perfect holiday snack that’s quick to make and always a crowd-pleaser!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 sleeve saltine crackers
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar together.
  • Bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Pour the butter mixture over the saltine crackers, spreading evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
  • Let sit for a few minutes until the chocolate chips melt, then spread evenly.
  • Sprinkle chopped nuts over the top if desired.
  • Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.

Notes

  • For a variation, you can use white chocolate chips or drizzle caramel over the chocolate.
  • This treat can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
