Description

A delightful, moist cake bursting with tender apples and warm cinnamon flavors. Perfect for fall gatherings or a cozy dessert any time of year!


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chopped apples
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×9 inch pan.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • In a separate large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  • Gradually blend in the flour mixture, then fold in the apples and walnuts.
  • Spread batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

  • Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
