Description

This creamy beef and bowtie pasta is a deliciously comforting dish, combining hearty ground beef, tender pasta, and a rich, creamy sauce. With melted cheese and a hint of smoked paprika, it’s the perfect dinner for busy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz (340g) bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 cups (480ml) beef broth
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups (150g) shredded cheddar cheese or mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup (15g) chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the bowtie pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Cook the beef: While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add aromatics: Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  • Add tomatoes and broth: Stir in the diced tomatoes with their juices, beef broth, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  • Combine pasta and cream: Reduce the heat to low, then stir in the heavy cream and cooked pasta. Mix well to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
  • Add cheese: Stir in the shredded cheese until melted and smooth. Continue to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
  • Garnish and serve: Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the sauce.
  • Feel free to use ground turkey or chicken as a leaner alternative to beef.
  • You can substitute the heavy cream with half-and-half or whole milk for a lighter version, though the texture may be less creamy.
