- 2 tablespoons butter (or ghee)
- 1 cup steel cut oats
- 3 cups water (or almond milk)
- 1 large pinch salt
Instructions
- Add the butter (or ghee) to the Instant Pot and set to the “Sauté” function. Once melted, add the steel cut oats and sauté for 2-3 minutes to toast them lightly.
- Add the water (or almond milk) and salt to the Instant Pot, stirring to combine.
- Close the Instant Pot lid and set the valve to “Sealing.” Set the Instant Pot to cook on high pressure for 4 minutes.
- Once the cooking time is done, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes before opening the valve to release any remaining pressure.
- Open the Instant Pot and stir the oats. If you prefer a creamier consistency, you can add more milk (dairy or non-dairy) to reach your desired texture.
- Serve warm with your favorite toppings, such as fresh fruit, nuts, or a drizzle of honey.
Notes
- You can make a batch of these oats and refrigerate them for up to 4 days. Reheat with a little additional milk or water.
- For added flavor, consider stirring in cinnamon, vanilla extract, or maple syrup before cooking.
- Adjust the consistency by adding more liquid if you prefer thinner oats.
