- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 12 ounces ziti pasta
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and cook until the onion is tender.
- Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and parsley. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Cook ziti according to package directions; drain.
- Add cooked ziti to the sauce and mix well.
- In a greased crock pot, layer the ziti mixture, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, and dollops of sour cream.
- Cover and cook on Low for 4 to 6 hours.

- You can substitute ground turkey for ground beef if you prefer a leaner option.
