Description
This rich and creamy chocolate hummus dip is a delicious, healthier alternative to traditional chocolate dips. Made with chickpeas, almond butter, and maple syrup, it’s a guilt-free treat that pairs perfectly with fresh fruit, crackers, or pretzels.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup almond butter (or peanut butter)
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (or honey)
- 2 tablespoons milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Chocolate chips or sprinkles (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, cocoa powder, almond butter, maple syrup, milk, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Blend: Blend until smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides of the food processor as needed.
- Adjust Texture: If the hummus is too thick, add more milk, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach the desired consistency.
- Serve: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and garnish with chocolate chips or sprinkles if desired.
- Enjoy: Serve with fresh fruit, crackers, or pretzels for dipping.
Notes
- Flavor Variations: You can experiment by adding a pinch of cinnamon, a dash of espresso powder, or a swirl of peanut butter for extra flavor.
- Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- Texture Tip: For a smoother dip, blend longer or use a high-powered blender.
