Description

Deep-Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Wonton Bites are a decadent, bite-sized dessert featuring a creamy, sweet cheesecake filling and juicy strawberries, all wrapped in a crispy wonton shell. These golden brown, powdered-sugar-dusted treats are perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup diced strawberries
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Gently fold in the diced strawberries.
  • Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of a wonton wrapper.
  • Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold it in half to form a triangle.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F.
  • Fry the wonton bites in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per batch.
  • Remove the bites with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • You can try adding a bit of lemon zest to the cream cheese mixture for an added citrus flavor.
  • If you want to make these ahead, freeze the filled wontons before frying, then fry directly from the freezer for a quick treat.
  • Be sure to watch the frying closely as the wontons can brown quickly.
