Ingredients
Scale
- 1 Boxed White Cake Mix
- 3 Large Eggs
- 1 cup Whole Milk
- 1 package (3 oz) Fruit-Flavored Jello Mix (your choice, such as strawberry, orange, or lime)
- 2 cups Whipped Topping
Instructions
- Prepare the cake: Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the boxed cake mix. Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish. Prepare the white cake mix by following the package instructions, adding the eggs, milk, and any other required ingredients.
- Bake the cake: Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking dish and bake as directed on the package, typically for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Poke the cake: Once the cake is baked and cooled for about 10 minutes, use the end of a wooden spoon or a skewer to poke holes all over the top of the cake.
- Prepare the Jello: In a medium bowl, dissolve the fruit-flavored gelatin mix in 1 cup of boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved. Add ½ cup of cold water to the gelatin mixture and stir again.
- Add the Jello: Pour the gelatin mixture evenly over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes. Allow the cake to cool completely at room temperature.
- Top with whipped cream: Once the cake is fully cooled, spread the whipped topping evenly over the cake, covering the entire surface.
- Chill and serve: Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours or until ready to serve.
Notes
- You can choose any flavor of fruit-flavored Jello to match your preferred color or taste.
- For an extra festive touch, decorate the whipped topping with sprinkles or small candy Easter eggs.
