Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups milk (2% or whole)

  • ½ pint heavy cream

  • 6 ounces sweetened condensed milk (about ½ can)

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (more to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Optional:

    • Pinch of salt

    • Pinch of cinnamon

    • Mini marshmallows

    • Crushed candy canes

    • Whipped cream

Instructions

  • Add milk, heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract to a slow cooker.

  • Stir to combine all ingredients well.

  • Cover and cook on low for 2 hours, stirring occasionally until chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy.

  • Taste and adjust cocoa or sweetness as needed.

  • Switch to “warm” setting to serve.

  • Serve in mugs and top with your favorite toppings such as marshmallows, whipped cream, or crushed candy canes.

Notes
