  • Author: Lina Judi
  • Total Time: 55 minutes

Description

An iconic dessert with a rock ‘n roll twist, combining the flavors of bananas and peanut butter for a deliciously nostalgic treat!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cake:

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup mashed bananas (about 2 ripe bananas)
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

For the Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Topping:

  • 1/4 cup chopped peanuts
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, vegetable oil, water, and eggs. Mix until smooth. Stir in the mashed bananas and peanut butter until well combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
  • For the frosting, in a medium bowl, beat together the butter and peanut butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing until smooth. Add the milk and vanilla extract, and beat until the frosting is light and fluffy.
  • Once the cake is completely cooled, spread the peanut butter frosting evenly over the top.
  • Sprinkle with chopped peanuts and mini chocolate chips, if using.
  • Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

For an extra Elvis touch, serve with a side of sliced bananas or a drizzle of caramel sauce. This cake is perfect for any celebration or a sweet treat to enjoy with a cup of coffee!
