Description

Enjoy the crispy, golden goodness of Fried Potatoes with Onions, a classic comfort dish that’s simple to prepare and bursting with flavor. Perfect as a side or a satisfying snack!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil or butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Ingredients: Peel and thinly slice the potatoes and onion.
  • Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil or butter over medium heat.
  • Cook the Potatoes and Onions: Add the sliced potatoes to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 5 minutes without stirring to allow them to start browning. Add the sliced onions and gently stir to combine.
  • Season and Continue Cooking: Sprinkle garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper over the mixture. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender and golden brown, and the onions are caramelized (about 15-20 minutes).
  • Serve: Remove from heat and transfer the fried potatoes and onions to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding diced bell peppers or herbs like thyme or rosemary.
