Description

These Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches are an indulgent dessert that combines creamy cheesecake filling, sweet strawberry preserves, and crispy fried bread. Topped with powdered sugar and fresh strawberries, this treat is the ultimate in decadence and flavor!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup strawberry preserves
  • 8 slices of white or brioche bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (optional, for extra coating)
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

For Garnish:

  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Fresh strawberries (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Cheesecake Filling: In a bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy. Spread a layer of the cheesecake filling on 4 slices of bread. Spread strawberry preserves over the filling, then top with the remaining 4 slices of bread to make sandwiches.
  • Prepare the Batter: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Optional: Place the flour in a separate shallow dish for an additional coating layer.
  • Fry the Sandwiches: Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat until shimmering (about 350°F/175°C). Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well-coated. For extra crispiness, lightly coat each sandwich in flour after dipping. Fry the sandwiches in batches for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  • Garnish and Serve: Dust the fried sandwiches with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh strawberries if desired. Serve warm and enjoy this indulgent treat!

Notes

  • For a lighter version, you can skip the flour coating.
  • You can use any type of bread, but brioche adds a richer flavor.
